Dayhome Policies
Punctuality: I ask that you be on time for both drop off and pick up. I plan appointments and family activites around the dayhome hours. I ask that you please call me if you are going to be late and check with me before dropping of early. Late fees may apply for any time outside of your contracted hours. (late fee is the standard $1.00/minute) I reserve the right to change extra for early drop offs and late pick ups.
Hours of Care: It is recomended that your child is not in care any longer than 10 hours a day 5 days a week. My hours are from 7:30am-5:00 pm.
Termination: I require 1 full months notice to terminate the contract and 2 weeks notice if you require a change in the contract, providing your account is in good standing. Accounts not in good standing may be terminated without notice.
Illness: If your child is too sick to participate in daily activities, your child is too sick to be here. Vomit/diarrhea/pink eye/fever/infected discharge from eyes, nose or mouth (usually green in color) frequent bouts of coughing (more than 3-5 times an hour) and flu are all reasons to keep your child at home. I reserve the right to ask for a Dr's note upon returning to care.Your child may not return into care for 24 hours after treatment (which means symptom free for 24 hours) this is to protect everyone in the dayhome. There is No reduction in fees for "sick days".
Holidays:The dayhome is closed for all Statutory holidays. I am also closed December 24,December 26, December 31, and Easter Monday. I take (15 days) paid vacation: generally consisting of a week at Christmas, a week during the summer and a week that usually coincides with a school break (Easter, Spring Break, or Teachers Convention). I will give ample notice for all vacation time taken. I will always try to assist you in finding back up care if needed, but unfortunately, I can not always guarantee back up care through my contacts. Finding back up care for your child while I am away is your responsibility. There is no reduction in fees for any holidays taken by you (the client)
Discipline: I use redirection and "time away" and natural/logical consequences. My rules are simple: Safety and Respect...."We do not hurt ourselves, others or things".
Items from home: Please do not send any items (toys or treats) that your child is unable or unwilling to share with their dayhome friends. The exception being blankets and any "comfort" items used for napping times, these items will be given to your child at nap time and packed way when you child wakes up. If you plan on sending treats or baking we love to celebrate holidays and birthdays! Treats will be gladly accepted -please check with me regarding any allergy restrictions and ensure there is always enough to share with all the other children.
